The objective is to bring in scholars, artists and public figures in this region to CUHK to share their views on civility and value system to our staff and students, as well as other interested parties in the public.

區結成醫生,老人科和康復科醫生,美國布朗大學醫學博士,服務香港公共醫療三十多年。2016年從醫管局退休,最後的崗位是醫管局質素及安全總監。區醫生於2017年3月加入香港中文大學,現任中文大學生命倫理學中心總監。 區醫生亦從事寫作,以筆名「區聞海」在《明報》、《信報》等寫副刊專欄多年,出版散文集七本。近年出版人文著作,包括:《醫院筆記:時代與人》(2016)、《當我用心寫:一個醫生的十年記》(2017)、《有詩的時候》(2017)。

*Speaker’s Biography:
Prof. Michel Bonnin, Professor at the School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences, France and Visiting Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, joined the 1968 Student Revolt in France during his school days. He then came to Hong Kong to engage in academic research on rustication of China’s educated youth and on social and political issues of modern China. Prof. Bonnin’s publications include, inter alia, “The Lost Generation - The Rustication of China’s Educated Youth (1968-1980)”.

*Speaker’s Biography:
Prof. Chan Kin Man is currently Associate Professor of Sociology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He graduated from CUHK with Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and received his Doctor of Philosophy from Yale University. As a former director of the Universities Service Centre for China Studies and founder of the Centre for Civil Society Studies of CUHK, Prof. Chan has been actively promoting civil society development in China. He has devoted himself to the Hong Kong democracy movement and was one of the major initiators of the “Occupy Central with Love and Peace” campaign. Prof. Chan’s publications include, inter alia, 《走向公民社會》 and《艱難的轉型:現代化與中國社會》 (Co-edited with Zhong Hua).
